About Dumpt
Good enough to eat…again.
Dumpt is an innovative cooking show that dives into what scraps are wasted off of the kitchen table that could be spared. Each show reinvents leftovers (that typically are placed in the can) into fresh and inventive meals. Chefs, cooks, and foodies help Shawn and Matt turn the dingy scraps into fantastic dishes—dishes non-reminiscent of last night’s dinner.
Our hope? Simply, that the next time you are faced with leftover food—you put it in the fridge or the freezer (and not just to toss it out a few days later either) to instead, give it a second shot on the table, in a new delicious way. Reducing the amount of waste you wheel out to the curb.
Our promise? To make it simple for you to stop your waste cycle. We will always provide easy to follow recipes that use what’s already found in your cabinets, that will be clearly accessible online. Tested, and unique recipes, that not only re-use what you’ve got, but also taste fantastic. Your family will be begging for leftover night! Beyond that, we also promise to teach you helpful tips for the proper storage of leftovers and ingredients—so you get the most mileage (and meals) out of them.
And, we promise to make it entertaining. Without hesitation we’ll toss you all the dish, in a deliciously fun, fast-paced way—all to a killer soundtrack. It’s not a bummer to be green! It’s fun, hip, inventive, and, not to mention, a really really good thing to do…that makes you feel really really good about doing it. So, why should the message be lame or boring?
Being “green” is about making choices that yield the lowest negative impact on the world around you. Dumpt may be starting small, (with your little trash can,) but even small steps build to create a BIG impact. You may not be able to afford the newest environmentally friendly home energy equipment available, but, a tangible thing you CAN do on any budget, is use the food you bring home from the market, or the garden. If every person makes an effort to take that simple step, we’ll be able to substantially cut the 96 billion pounds of food wasted each year in the US. That’s no small potatoes.
A negative effect on the environment is unavoidable, but lessening your impact IS attainable.
So, give your leftovers a second shot, we’ll show you how--your crumbs never again to be dumpt.
